had to do some system re-install stuff today.

When I did BC2, somehow the sound in game was wrong. In my case, almost all the sound was from the left, and very very little from the right. So naturally I'm looking at whether my sound card and all the drivers are setup right, but it didn't fix. So I go to the internet for help, and found that in the "my documents" folder structure (even with a Steam install), there is a folder for BFBC2 with a "settings.ini" and "gamesettings.ini". In the settings.ini, under the [Sound] variables you can control quality and "speakercount". Apparently the default of speakercount=0 is supposed to tell the game to automatically figure things out, and it apparently sucks at figuring it out :P

so i just have 2 small computer speakers so I set speakercount=2 and haven't fooled with quality yet -- supposedly the ingame settings of quality are supposed to work, but who knows. So speakercount fixed my problem. It also sounds better than the 1st time I had everything installed. So I recommend taking a look at it yourself. If you were cool and had a 5.1 speaker system, you can set speakercount=6. And for those with cool gaming headphones, try one like 5.1 and compare vs 2. People were talking about how if you use 5.1 and "War Tapes" quality, the game sounds awesome.
